Stephen Barlow exchanges his customary baton for the piano and accompanies Gareth Patrick Willismas in a programme of music set for piano and flute by Bach, Scarlatti, Poulenc and Hindemith.
Gareth Patrick Williams studied the flute at the Royal Manchester School of Music. His subsequent career has been as principal flute in several orchestras and guest principal flute in others. His solo career has taken him all over the United Kingdom as well as Europe and Australia, and he has made some highly-acclaimed recordings. The young Stephen Barlow was a chorister at Canterbury Cathedral; after schooling in King’s School, he became organ scholar at Trinity College Cambridge. His interest in the operatic world led him into conducting which has taken him far afield; his musical interests are wide.
